Arts in the Middle

2017 Arts in the Middle: Arts in the Middle is a collaborative fine arts festival bringing together artists from the Middle Peninsula and beyond to showcase their works, to demonstrate the impact the arts can have on smaller communities, and to celebrate the creative spirit in rural Virginia.
The stately Hewick Plantation is a landscape and architectural jewel, a beautifully restored circa 1678 home and farmland. With expansive lawn and stunning tree lined private entrance make the perfect setting for artists to showcase their work. Less than 1/2 mile away is the charming port village of Urbanna, home to the famed Fall Urbanna Oyster Festival and popular for shopping, dining and colonial history. The Saturday evening awards ceremony will be in the heart of Urbanna on the lawn of the 18th century mansion, Lansdowne, celebrating the arts with music, lite fare and spirits. Shops and restaurants will remain open late to accommodate festival goers.
